Robert E. Curtis-12/21/82

On Tuesday, December 21st, 1982 at 8:20 PM, the Hancock Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire in the Hancock Fire District. FF Robert E. "Bear" Curtis, age 61, was getting into a fire truck to respond to the call for help. While in the process of this, FF Curtis went into sudden cardiac arrest. Immediate life saving measures were initiated and FF Curtis was transported by the Hancock Rescue Squad to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, N.Y. where he passed away.
