George A. and Margaret Mee Charitable Foundation Grant Award

The Hancock Fire Department is pleased to announce that our organization has received a grant, in the amount of $68,814, from the George A. and Margaret Mee Charitable Foundation. This grant award is to replace 31 sets of firefighting personal protective gear (turnout jacket and turnout pants) that were scheduled to expire this year. This grant will also allow us to purchase 8 sets of rescue/forestry personal protective gear.

This grant has allowed us to buy new and updated personal protective equipment to keep our firefighters and rescuers safe while they are serving the public, without putting a financial burden on our tax payers. We give our sincerest thank you to the Mee Foundation for giving us the ability to ensure that our members are protected.

The Mee Foundation invests in projects and programs of qualified nonprofit organizations that support the communities of Delaware County, New York; Cameron County, Pennsylvania; Broome County, New York; and occasionally the surrounding areas. The general categories of funding include Education, Community and Recreation, Health and Human Services and Arts and Culture.
